VON PBX - How It Works
How It Works...
VoIP phones provide flexibility and are capable of communicating with cell phones, analog phones and other broadband phones. They work identical to an analog phone, but terminate calls through the Internet. Using the Internet infrastructure as a voice transfer medium allows HipTel to provide low cost, high quality calling.
Refer to the diagram below to see how HipTel works. It takes the voice signal coming from your HipTel phone and routes it through the ATA where it digitally converts the signal to be sent over the Internet. The ATA is plugged into cable modem, which is the connection to the to the Internet. As the call travels over the Internet it is converted to an analog signal at the location where the phone will ring. If calling to another VoIP phone, the signal will remain digital and not be converted to an analog signal.
Connecting Multiple Locations
HipTels VON PBX plan can connect multiple phones at multiple locations as if they were all located in the same location. Use three or four digit dialing to call another branch of your company, even if its on the other side of the country. HipTel makes this possible using the Internet as a connection medium between the two locations.
Best of all, calling between your HipTel phones is free and will not cost you anything.
View the diagram below to see how VON PBX will connect your locations.
